Mr. Shawn T. Whitney, 39, of Delaware, died at 4:50 A.M. Friday, August 10, 2012 at the Kindred Hospital in Tulsa.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. on Friday, August 17, 2012 at the First Church of God in Nowata with Pastor Wendell Abbott and Rev. Tom Tanquary officiating. Interment will be in the Martin Cemetery east of Nowata directed by the Stumpff-Nowata Funeral Home.
Mr. Whitney was born on March 12, 1973 at Nowata, Oklahoma to Thomas James Whitney and Connie Sue (Stanley) Whitney. He grew up in the Delaware area and graduated from Alluwe High School. He had been active in oil field work most all of his adult life. He loved his family, OU football, hunting, the outdoors and attended the First Church of God in Nowata.
Survivors include one son, Caleb Whitney of South Coffeyville, two daughters, Ally Renee Whitney of South Coffeyville and Megan Long of Clifton, Iowa, his parents, Jim and Connie Whitney of South Coffeyville, a brother, Eric Whitney of Hominy, a sister, Christi Whitney of Nowata and a number of nieces and nephews.
