Sharon Lee McGonigal

April 26, 1944 - April 10, 2012

SHARON LEE COLLUM McGONIGAL

Only 16 days before her 68th birthday, Sharon Lee Collum McGonigal, of
Bartlesville, OK, stepped into the arms of her Lord and Savior.
Tuesday, April 10, 2012, our loved one lost the battle with an unknown lung illness.
Sharon was a member of Happy Hill Pentecostal Church in Ramona. Her faith in God was strong.

April 26, 1944, Sharon Lee was born to Essie Dunn Collum and Thomas Collum in Lodi, California. Sharon’s father Thomas was serving in WWII at the time of her birth. After her father was honorably discharged from the Army, the family relocated to Roff, OK.
Sharon soon welcomed a baby sister, Betty Jo, to her world. The family moved to Bartlesville, Oklahoma in 1950. Sharon attended Lincoln Elementary, Central Jr. High and graduated from College High in 1962.

Sharon and Kenneth McGonigal were married on August 1, 1973 in Bartlesville and made their home East of Bartlesville. Their love and devotion made them stronger each day.
Sharon had two children, a daughter Robin and a son Michael.
They were her foremost motivation and happiness.
Robin and Michael gave her four grandchildren, Jesse, Jour’Dan, Jana and Peter.
She was totally devoted to her grandchildren. She was also blessed with five great grandchildren Chloe, Lucas, Zayden, Jessi and Franki which brought her much pleasure.

Sharon was employed by Phillips Petroleum for 23 years. After her retirement, she enjoyed sewing and making beautiful quilts for her family and friends. Sharon also enjoyed doing genealogy. She was our family genealogist. She spent several years tracing our family history. She earned a membership with the Daughters of the American Revolution by proving the lineal bloodline descent from our ancestor who
aided in achieving United States Independence.
She was a true Patriot, and a strong believer in giving honor to those who
defend America today, and those ancestors who fought to give the United States independence.

Sharon is survived by her husband Kenneth McGonigal of the home, her children Robin Jacobs of Collinsville and Michael McGonigal and his wife Traci of Dewey, a step son, Troy Wayne McGonigal of South Carolina,
Eight grandchildren, Jesse Jackson and wife Shantal, Jour'Dan Jackson, Jana Thomas, Peter McGonigal, Kyra, Kaci, Kaden and Kanin Templeton.
Five great grandchildren Chloe, Lucas, Zayden, Jessi, and Franki.
Also, survived by her sister, Betty Jo Collum Earley of Bartlesville. A brother and
sister in law, Bobby and Patty McGonigal of Ochelata. A sister and brother in law, Carol and Gene Poling of Bartlesville.

Sharon was preceded in death by her mother and step father, Essie and Jess Hodge and her father, Thomas Collum.

Though we are not ready to let go of our most precious flower, we know that God is gathering the most beautiful flowers for His bouquet.
Our sweet “Rose of Sharon”, will complete a most elegant arrangement of love and tenderness.

Funeral services for Mrs. McGonigal will be held at 1 P.M. Monday, at the Happy Hill Church at Ramona with Pastor Tom Johnson officiating. Interment will be in the Ochelata Cemetery under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.
