CARL YATES
Carl Yates, 92, resident of rural Wann, died at 7:30 PM Sunday.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday in the Southview Church of God in South Coffeyville, Oklahoma with Pastor John Lockaby of the Southview Church of God officiating. Cremation arrangements were by the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.
Carl Edward Yates was born on July 29, 1919 at Coffeyville, Kansas the son of Benjamin Franklin and Edith Pearl (Tobler) Yates. He was raised at Coffeyville and married Lillian Josephine Brown in 1935. He worked for the US Army as a fire truck driver at Coffeyville, Kansas during WWII. He later worked for the COOP Refinery, Continental Can Company, Moore and Lowery Flour Mill. He then owned an APCO Station at Coffeyville for many years. He was a member of the South Coffeyville Church of God. He loved to raise cattle.
Carl is survived by his wife Lillian, four sons, Carl Aden Yates of South Coffeyville, Darrel Eugene Yates of Maypearl, Texas, Donald Ray Yates of Coffeyville and Roger Dean Yates of Wann, nine grandchildren 21 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
