JAMES MICHAEL ‘MIKE’ GUNN
James Michael Gunn age 65 of Bartlesville, OK passed away peacefully Saturday, May 21, 2011, in his home surrounded by family and friends. Mike was born April 1, 1946, in San Diego, CA, the son of Howard and Lena Mae (Sikes) Gunn. He is the youngest of 7 siblings. Mike was raised in San Diego and moved to Kansas City where he met the love of his life Marcia (Maddux) Gunn and from then on they were inseparable for 23 years.
Services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday at the Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Rick Woodward of Hope Hospice officiating. Cremation arrangements were under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory. The family has set up a Facebook page in remembrance of his life. Comments and memories are appreciated. A celebration of life will be held in Kansas City at a later date and will be posted on his page.
A memorial has been established with the American Cancer Society, c/o Kathy Leeper P.O. box 1094, Bartlesville, Oklahoma 74005 for those who wish to donate in his memory.
James Michael Gunn worked as a Transportation Coordinator at Conoco-Phillips where he made many friends and memories. Mike was dedicated to his job and he especially cherished spending time with his family and friends. When he wasn’t with them you could often find him on the computer, where he spend time building his virtual farms and factories. Mike also liked to target shoot and fly remote control airplanes. Mike is remembered by all who knew him as a genuine, caring, and loyal friend and by his unique and exceptional sense of humor. His humor and wisdom will be greatly missed.
